A winter wonderland ~ in Louisiana! 12/11/2008

I was "walking in a winter wonderland"!

Sandy Ann & Tinker Belle were too!
Tinker Belle is behind the shrub. She wanted protection!

The blizzard of 2008 in video

Hear a southern rooster get vocally "cocky" about the snow:

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..."

Sandy Ann & Tinker Belle try to chase the snow away with barks and growls!
As you can see, their endeavors proved unsuccessful:

Well, at least they tried!
T’was the night before December 11th, 2008….

(Now, keep in mind that on December 9th, 2008 the temperature was 77 degrees Fahrenheit.)

T'was the night before December 11th when all over the TV;
The wise weather folk in Louisiana proclaimed with glee:

“We forecast a chance of snow FLURRIES tomorrow”, the following day!
“But, it won’t stick to the ground” it will fall; but not stay!

At seven a.m., I heard a bell ring;
Sandy Ann and Tinker Belle were reminding me, it was time to go do their thing.

So I sprang from my chair, without a care in the world (it was too early for cares), opened the back door and what did I see?
I saw fluffy white stuff, falling from the sky and the trees!
O_O

At first I was stunned, and rubbed my eyes twice,
Looked out once again and thought "OH, THIS IS NICE!"

I put on my coat, my gloves and my boots,
Went outside and thought "Oh shoots"...

For the pups I forgot and I almost did pout;
Opened the door, once again, and let the pups out.
(whew!)

Out they ran, as usual, but a shock they did get.
All that fluffy white stuff was so cold and so wet!
(But, it was so beautiful too!!!)

Down and down the white stuff fell...
Onto Sandy Ann's nose and all over Tinker Belle!

Tinker Belle barked, Sandy Ann growled;
More white stuff fell, more winds howled!

The pups were not happy, this I could see;
So back inside they went, as soon as they did pee!

I took a few pictures and some videos;
'Cause when this will happen again, nobody knows!

A day in the snow, I did enjoy;
For in Louisiana, snow's better than toys!
(Well, maybe not better than ALL toys.)
*wink*

As the last snowflake fell, I watched with both sadness and delight...
And thought, "What a glorious day; what a wonderful sight,
This beautiful, fluffy, cold blanket of white!”

Thank you!

Merry Christmas BlogBelieve and Happy Holidays too!
Hugs and Love,
Wendy

A great night with old (great) friends!

WELCOME HOME, HILLY !!!

Hill's return home!!!!

November 25, 2008

(Can't wait for Jazz Fest 2009 now!)

The speech! As all speeches should be, short and sweet!

Yes, a few hundred more yards of bar, a few hundred more people, the cd system to the left of the bar and me in the last chair of that left corner WOULD have be just like "back in the day".

(Those WERE the days my friends!) But, more days are ahead. Many more days, filled with many more friends ~ old and new! I hope!

For our friends who are gone now, Floyd ~ Nick ~ Pat ~ MoeJ ~ Al ~ Keith, and too many more, rest in peace. We missed ya'll last night; but, each one of you was with us in spirit(s).

*hint hint hint*

Voodoo Fest 2008 ~ My personal video collection

Voodoo Music Experience: The Tenth Ritual

New Orleans, LA

October 24, 25, and 26, 2008

The best "experience" in years. The weather was beautiful, the people were fun and respectful, the crowd was record breaking, the music/art/talent was amazing and NOLA security is simply the best!

Special thanks to Mars Volta and extra special thanks to NINE INCH NAILS!!!!

First, I give you Nine Inch Nails' opening song "1000000" ~ all of it.
(from the main stage)

(I think you, Mr. Reznor, need to move back "home"!)

Why must professional camera men always get in my way?
;)

**************************
Then, one of my personal favorites, "Closer"! Ummm...hmmm....
All of that one too!

*******************************
A bit of their AMAZING light show!

*********************************

The last NIN song I was able to record. My darn memory card was full!

And, there was so much more magic to capture!

(I did have another memory card. I was just having too much fun singing, dancing, jumping and smiling to take the time to change cards.)

****************************************************
MARS VOLTA

I was very, very impressed with their live performance!

Just watch Thomas, the drummer (especially in my third video). WOW!!!!
I hear I shot the best Thomas footage of the day!
*another huge smile*

I liked them! I liked them very much.

Thank you, Manchester Orchestra!

I did do a little more Voodoo~ing on Sunday; but, I forgot my camera and I was too darn exhausted (and sore) to last the entire day. Yes, I missed Panic At The Disco, Cowboy Mouth and R.E.M.

*hangs head in shame*

Oh well, NEXT TIME!
