A winter wonderland ~ in Louisiana! 12/11/2008

I was "walking in a winter wonderland"!

Sandy Ann & Tinker Belle were too!
Tinker Belle is behind the shrub. She wanted protection!

The blizzard of 2008 in video

Hear a southern rooster get vocally "cocky" about the snow:

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..."

Sandy Ann & Tinker Belle try to chase the snow away with barks and growls!
As you can see, their endeavors proved unsuccessful:

Well, at least they tried!
T’was the night before December 11th, 2008….

(Now, keep in mind that on December 9th, 2008 the temperature was 77 degrees Fahrenheit.)

T'was the night before December 11th when all over the TV;
The wise weather folk in Louisiana proclaimed with glee:

“We forecast a chance of snow FLURRIES tomorrow”, the following day!
“But, it won’t stick to the ground” it will fall; but not stay!

At seven a.m., I heard a bell ring;
Sandy Ann and Tinker Belle were reminding me, it was time to go do their thing.

So I sprang from my chair, without a care in the world (it was too early for cares), opened the back door and what did I see?
I saw fluffy white stuff, falling from the sky and the trees!
O_O

At first I was stunned, and rubbed my eyes twice,
Looked out once again and thought "OH, THIS IS NICE!"

I put on my coat, my gloves and my boots,
Went outside and thought "Oh shoots"...

For the pups I forgot and I almost did pout;
Opened the door, once again, and let the pups out.
(whew!)

Out they ran, as usual, but a shock they did get.
All that fluffy white stuff was so cold and so wet!
(But, it was so beautiful too!!!)

Down and down the white stuff fell...
Onto Sandy Ann's nose and all over Tinker Belle!

Tinker Belle barked, Sandy Ann growled;
More white stuff fell, more winds howled!

The pups were not happy, this I could see;
So back inside they went, as soon as they did pee!

I took a few pictures and some videos;
'Cause when this will happen again, nobody knows!

A day in the snow, I did enjoy;
For in Louisiana, snow's better than toys!
(Well, maybe not better than ALL toys.)
*wink*

As the last snowflake fell, I watched with both sadness and delight...
And thought, "What a glorious day; what a wonderful sight,
This beautiful, fluffy, cold blanket of white!”

Thank you!

Merry Christmas BlogBelieve and Happy Holidays too!
